The term Agile coach has been around for a long time but is arguably as misunderstood as the terms ScrumMaster and product owner, perhaps even more so. It invariably means different things in every organization A senior ScrumMaster might be viewed to be a project manager, Someone to oversee the ScrumMaster, akin to a supervisor. An Agile Coach is someone responsible for coaching the team while the ScrumMaster ensures that the team is staying on track. Basically, ScrumMasters are the front-line fighters, and agile coaches are higher up in the organization teaching and coaching Agile Methodology and the processes and standards involved in Agile Methodology. Scrum Masters are the “Doers or Practioners” while Agile Coaches are the “Teachers or Trainers”.
